Truecount & Trimble’s ThingMagic Alliance
Market Insight
The recent announcement of an alliance between Truecount and Trimble’s ThingMagic division comes when we’ve already seen several announcements in 2011 about alliances or acquisitions of technology companies focused on delivering RFID solutions to the retail apparel market. This flurry of activity is motivated by announcements from large US retailers and several international retailers that applying RFID tags on items, at least in apparel, delivers positive results for retail businesses, both large and small.
