Enter the Service Provider: Verizon Wireless Announces Managed Home Automation Service
Company Insight
Although the multitude of tablets were the most visible and prominent product category on display at International CES this year, the home automation market also saw significant traction at the show. Most notably, Verizon announced that it will launch a managed home monitoring and control service later this year. The company had an interesting display of its technology set up in the press room where it showed off the features of its service, which is based on technology from 4Home, a leading home automation platform software vendor. 4Home was acquired late last year by Motorola Mobility, the new mobile handset/STB vendor split out from Motorola on January 4th, 2011.
