CES 2011: Too Many Tablets Will Spoil the Soup

Media headlines from the International Consumer Electronics Show (CES) 2011 read “80+ tablets” launched. This sounds like a great promise for 2011: an endless range of product choices for consumers and more competitive prices. We rarely see discussion about this “survival of the fittest” in technology markets, yet it is a typical phase of early interest. Can too many tablet devices entering the fray spoil the near-term market opportunity?
