Will China Mobile's TD-SCDMA Technology Be Successful in 3G?
3G mobile services are progressing nicely in China. In mid-2007, China Mobile began evaluating a vast TD-SCDMA infrastructure with deployments in eight large cities including Beijing, Shanghai, and Tianjin. The construction of the TD-SCDMA network for this trial was finished in January 2008 and commercial pilot tests have been taking place since April 1, 2008. Can a new brand icon for 3G match China Mobile’s determination to harness 3G’s full capabilities?
