Multi-Device Mobile Data Plans - Are We At a Tipping-Point?
Market Insight
- Published 07 Feb 2011 by Dan Shey
Rogers, a mobile operator in Canada, is now offering subscribers multi-device mobile data plans. While it is not completely clear how these plans work, it appears customers can share the allotted data plan allowance between their smartphone and another mobile data device. Single subscription multi-device data plans are rare (if they are even offered anywhere in the world) and certainly have not been offered to date in the North American market. What are the implications of these plans? Will the Rogers announcement create a thunderous roar from other operators announcing their own shared data plans?
