Dear France Telecom: Another Mobile OS Is a Bad Idea
In September, France Telecom’s CEO announced that he has invited Vodafone, Telefonica O2, and T-Mobile to discuss the possibility of launching a new mobile OS, citing that Apple and Google are creating “Trojan Horses” to capture loyal customers, and that mobile network operators need to become the innovators, not the followers. The reasoning is that the collective weight of these operators, who represent nearly one billion subscribers, will make a difference. Seriously?
