NSN is acquiring the majority of Motorola Networks for $1.2B in order to strengthen its global presence by focusing on the United States and Japan. This acquisition provides NSN with 50 mobile operator relationships. NSN already has strengths in UMTS, HSPA, and LTE FDD; now it adds Motorola’s CDMA, WiMAX, and LTE TDD solutions to its multi-standard base station solutions.
