Harbinger's 4G Hedge
The MVNO market has been a mobile broadband phoenix rising from the ashes of the historic national economic recession, particularly in the United States. Greenfield network operators acquired valuable wireless spectrum in the United States to build nationwide mobile broadband networks. Some will provide potentially lucrative wholesale services to a proliferation of wireless service providers that do not hold spectrum licenses or need additional capacity to provide bandwidth-intensive mobile consumer services, such as mobile Internet access or mobile video entertainment. For example, Clearwire launched its 4G mobile WiMAX network in 2009 to provide retail 4G mobile Internet access services, as well as provide wholesale services to MVNOs Bright House Networks, Comcast, Time Warner, and Sprint Nextel.
