Only in the last year has population coverage picked up significantly in key markets such as the United States, so smaller players have made USB modems to pick up the slack: C-motech, Franklin Wireless, Motorola, and ZTE. But Sierra Wireless and Novatel Wireless’s entry into the WiMAX modem space is a milestone because these two companies are major players in this space.
