Annual RFID End-user Survey Top Line Results

Enterprise Organizations Share Their RFID Adoption and Usage Plans

Research Report

In order to gain deeper perspective into usage plans and requirements among both current and potential RFID end users, ABI Research surveyed key influencers at organizations that use RFID technology, those that plan to install, those that have evaluated, and those not using RFID technology. More than 150 qualified organizations from across the world responded to ABI Research’s 2010 RFID end-user online survey that was conducted in December, 2010.

This Research Report provides the high-level, top-line results from that annual survey. It includes analysis of respondents’ RFID usage plans, primary adoption drivers, specific applications, supported operating frequencies, 2010 RFID expenditures and 2011 budget direction, transponder selection criteria, vendor sources and vendor selection criteria, and demographics. Non-user responses are also briefly analyzed to gain perspective into reasons for not adopting RFID. The respondent pool includes manufacturers, retailers, hospitals, government agencies, logistics providers and many others representing companies of various sizes, revenue classifications, and lines of business. This analysis provides data obtained from a cross-section of 151 end users from all major vertical and regional markets. The results offer a sample snapshot of the broader end-user community trends to consider in the development of more detailed market models and business strategies.
