In June 2009, wireless sensor networking (WSN) industry juggernaut, the ZigBee Alliance continued toward its apparent goal of world domination by announcing that the newest technological capability for the ZigBee standard will be “energy harvesting.” Dubbed “ZigBee Green Power” this new addition to the ZigBee family of standards should be available by the end of 2009.
