TransferJet Consortium Takes Flight
In July 2008, the TransferJet Consortium was granted clearance from the tower and took flight into the wireless connectivity sky. Spearheaded by Sony, the recent announcement outlines an agreement to form a consortium to develop specifications for interconnecting products. Such specifications will use TransferJet, a new interoperable wireless transfer technology that enables the rapid transfer of high resolution video, music, and images. The TransferJet Consortium plans to promote a wide range of products and services incorporating TransferJet technology. Its aim is to accelerate the adoption of TransferJet throughout the consumer electronics industry.
