Observers have been watching China adopt an increasingly active stance on IPTV. In August 2008, telco incumbent China Telecom announced its list of preferred suppliers based on the IPTV 2.0 platform and terminal equipment procurement. Standard definition terminal contracts are awarded to ZTE, UTStarcom, Coship, Motorola, Huawei, Postcom, Sunniwell, Alcatel-Lucent, Yuxing, 30 Kaitian, and Changhong.)
