Consolidation continues in the passive UHF RFID market, this time hitting RFID hardware. Following Checkpoint’s purchase of RFID software player OATSystems in June, RFID silicon, tag, and reader-provider Impinj, Inc announced it had acquired Intel’s RFID Reader Chip Operation on 10 July.
