Are Femtocells at a Tipping Point?
- Published 28 Jul 2008 by Stuart Carlaw
There has been much discussion with regard to the finer points of the femtocell universe at the Avren Events European Femtocell Event, held in London. A star-studded cast was assembled and viewpoints were exchanged; conversations happened in dimly lit corners and meeting rooms with hushed voices and sideways glances; everyone was busy and there was a sensation of hustle and bustle. So why have I come away with an empty feeling? My major take-away was that the industry is in a delicate period where nobody wants to put their head above the parapet and say something new/controversial/insightful. The real question is whether this is the lull before the storm, or the signs of a cooling market.
