This Research Brief is based on a survey of 2,000 mobile phone users in the United States, conducted in the second half of 2010. Respondents were asked whether they would be interested in a femtocell device. They were provided with an explanation of what the device is and can do. The survey covers consumer awareness, purchasing intentions, and user attitudes towards femtocells in the United States, which is currently one of the fastest-growing femtocell markets in the world.

In addition the survey also probed mobile data usage patterns in the home, querying users' preferences regarding Wi-Fi versus femtocells. The survey provides analysis of the results and details of the demographics used.
