AirPlay Starting to Make Some Noise

Following on the heels of Apple's iOS 4.3 release, Pioneer has announced that it is releasing several new AV Receivers with integrated AirPlay capabilities. The first of these is the VSX-1021 with a retail price of only $549. According to the company, this model will be the lowest priced AirPlay-compatible AVR on the market when it hits shelves. Additionally, the company cited some of its own customer research which indicates that over 62% of Pioneer AVR owners also own Apple products and nearly 50% own three or more Apple devices. More AirPlay compatible devices will be coming later this year including AVRs and tabletop speaker systems.
