Cisco Wants to Control4 Your Home

On Tuesday, February 15, 2011, Control4 and Cisco announced a strategic partnership in the home automation and energy management market. Cisco will act as lead investor in venture-backed Control4’s latest round of funding. (Control4 has raised over $75 million in venture funding to date.) In addition to the funding, the partnership has two key aspects. First, Cisco has selected Control4’s home automation platform software as a key aspect of Cisco’s overall Smart + Connected Communities solution portfolio. Second, the two companies will work together to integrate Control4’s home energy management functionality with Cisco’s overall smart grid solution offering and leverage Cisco’s extensive utility relationships to drive overall solution sales.
