RFID Unit Shipments Up Nearly 100% In 2010 - Avery Dennison Financial Report

When Avery Dennison’s Retail Information Services Division indicated in its financial report that RFID unit shipments had increased nearly 100% in 2010, the company attributed most of the growth to the Apparel Industry’s increased use of Item Level Tags (ILT). Avery Dennison’s CEO, Dean Scarborough, said that the company had a “couple of customers in the US ramp up their RFID programs.” If a “couple of customers” can really drive growth in unit shipments equally nearly one hundred percent, we’ll be interested to see what happens if one hundred customers ramp up RFID deployments!
