MEMS Microphone Market Competition Heats Up

MEMS microphone market competition further increased with STMicroelectronics entering the market in late 2010. ST has teamed up with Omron to offer digital MEMS microphones and increase its MEMS product offering. ST and Omron are not the only ones vying for a share in a market that has been dominated by one supplier – Knowles – until recently.
