The GSMA is comprised of mobile operators and related members of the mobile ecosystem around the world. Rumor has it that the GSMA is actively investigating the introduction of form factor and possibly board-level connectivity standards for embedded cellular modules commonly used in cellular M2M applications. Currently, and with few exceptions, these modules use various types of "connectorized" and "surface-mount" customized form factors.
