Mobile Video: Testing LTE and the Demise of MediaFLO

Mobile video holds much promise, but up until now it has not lived up to expectations. Some consumers watch professionally-produced video on their handsets, of course, but the mass market is still a no-show. The recent demise of Qualcomm’s MediaFLO service underscores the challenges that the mobile video business faces, and it provides a warning to new players. LTE could be the missing piece that helps adoption of mobile video to flourish – or at least helps it to fulfill some of its promise.
