Now in its 25th year, the 2010 CARTES & IDentification event provided some notable developments. In addition to technologies and developments, the show’s expanded presence included debuts from several companies, such as Ubivelox (Korea) and Hobim (Turkey), highlighting an on-going spread of smart card usage around the world. Exhibitors demonstrating new products, technologies, manufacturing, and personalisation capabilities came from more than forty countries. Among them, preparations for NFC adoption and the new smart IC target that is the re-born concept of the Internet of Things stood out most.
