The US Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) recently released a document designed to provide its staff guidance for the creation and enforcement of regulations implementing environmental law that incorporate the concept of “environmental justice.” The Agency defines environmental justice as “the fair treatment and meaningful involvement of all people regardless of race, color, natural origin, or income with respect to the development, implementation, and enforcement of environmental laws, regulations, and policies.”
