The Femto World Summit 2010 is becoming an important annual summer affair both for femtocell industry insiders and folks who are curious about the latest trends in the market and the technology’s adoption. Appropriately, the Summit is held in London where the technology was born during the second half of the last decade, largely at small UK start-ups like picoChip, Ubiquisys, and ip.access. At this year’s Summit, the number of delegates seemed larger than in previous years and lots of optimism was riding on the back of the frequently discussed Vodafone and AT&T femtocell rollouts. Except that the summit was held during three glorious summer days during the England World Cup game, the delegates seemed engrossed in the presentations and in huddling for impromptu meetings in hotel foyers.
