All or Some, Nokia’s NFC Smartphone Plans Remain Notable

In June, Nokia announced at a conference that all its smartphones set for launch next year would include Near Field Communication (NFC). Quite rightly, the news created a lot of excitement among those who have been promoting and reporting on NFC over the years. After all, it was a bold step and to date, Nokia’s steps in NFC have been supportive, but not particularly bold. A few days later, Nokia clarified the statement by saying only some smartphones will have NFC next year – and they may not be available in all markets. Just what is Nokia’s stance on NFC in mobile handsets?
