Is the Laptop "Yesterday’s News” for Enterprise?

At the recent Wall Street Journal D8 Conference, Dreamworks Animation’s Jeffry Katzenberg said, “The laptop is yesterday’s news.” Katzenberg now favors an Apple iPad and a Blackberry, so his statement highlights how the Ultra Mobile Device (UMD) category, and its poster child, the iPad, is changing our concept of the term “laptop.” More important than a semantic discussion however is another question: given the laptop’s prominence for business users, are laptops really yesterday’s news for the enterprise segment?
