The mobile TV services market has been hindered by a number of barriers to date, including the lingering effects of the recession, fragmented regional broadcast TV technologies, and limited 3G mobile network capabilities. However, the greatest barrier to the market’s worldwide adoption and accelerated growth may be the lack of scheduled and simulcast local and national TV programs in most developed countries outside of Japan and South Korea.
