Getting All Charged Up Over Battery Chargers

The proliferation of portable products, along with the nascent shift of automotive drive technologies to an increasingly electrical basis, requires us to look with increasing interest towards new means of charging, and recharging, our batteries. However, I found two recent announcements of new charging products less than electrifying.
