Is God on Target’s Side with Mobile Coupons?

No, God hasn’t officially endorsed Target’s new mobile-coupon scanning system, but the giant retailer has figured out a way to bring the concept to mere mortals. Recently, Target launched its nationwide mobile coupon redemption system in all of it 1,740 stores – the first major retailer claiming to do so in the United States. Now, when you show a coupon from your phone at a Target checkout, a handheld 2D barcode scanner reads the coupon directly from your phone’s screen, and the discount is automatically applied to your transaction. It’s a technical miracle. Almost.
