Barcode-enabled mobile applications, especially 2D-based solutions, are commonplace in Japan. However, adoption has been much slower in other major consumer markets, such as the United States. This dynamic should change quickly as activity, interest, and deployment escalate across the value chain from mobile players to consumer goods companies to retailers.
