Mobile Handset and Smartphone Market in 2010 and Beyond

ABI Research estimates that two hundred and ninety-one million handsets were shipped during 3Q 2009. While this is down 6.5% YoY (Year-over-Year), the quarter was up 8.1% QoQ (Quarter-over-Quarter). While underlying consumer confidence in the mass-market consumer electronics marketplace is still weak, is the handset market demonstrating the beginning of a return to form?
