The Kyoto Protocol expires in 2012. For those of you who are unaware, the Kyoto Protocol is a set of rules aimed at combating climate change as a consequence of greenhouse gas emissions. It’s part of the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change (UNFCCC) treaty, which is aimed at stabilizing the amount of carbon in our atmosphere “at a level that would prevent dangerous anthropogenic interference with the climate system.”
