
VDSL2 at 500 Mbps – A Threat to Fiber?

Just when ISPs are contemplating abandoning DSL due to its bandwidth limitations, a vendor recently demonstrated that that this copper technology may yet be viable and sustainable and that we should perhaps take another look at its potential uses. This vendor demonstrated that VDSL, the next generation and much faster twin of DSL, in fact has the ability to run above its originally touted 100 Mbps over existing copper infrastructure.
