Worldwide cordless phone revenue will fall to $4.3 billion In 2014, down 20% from $5.2 billion in 2009, according to ABI Research. A rising number of consumers—especially young consumers—have dropped fixed lines and now use only mobile phones. Cordless phone makers are working to counter that trend with advanced Internet-connected phones in developed markets, and with large numbers of low-cost handsets in emerging regions.

This study presents the results of interviews with cordless phone handset makers, component makers and professional associations. The report offers a clear-eyed look at how different market strategies are likely to work, and projects handset shipments and revenues for all types of cordless phones through 2014.
