The Impact for the Mobile Industry from Rising Youth Unemployment

As unemployment continues to rise, most economists are predicting it will peak in 2010. Unfortunately, it is unknown how soon unemployment will decline to pre-recessionary levels. ABI Research’s World Financial Crisis and the Mobile Services Market report has predicted that extended high unemployment levels will have a significant impact on the mobile services industry, and now most governments view a prolonged period of high unemployment as their biggest social and economic challenge. Statistics are now showing that the unemployment rates for teens and younger workers is even higher than for the average worker population. So, what effect could unemployment in this age-group have for the Mobile Industry?
