Mobile Trends: The Impact of Mobile Cloud Computing on Mobile Money

Companies with an interest in mobile money services need to be aware of a disruptive new force in the mobile space: the emergence of mobile cloud computing. ABI Research believes that nearly all mobile money service providers will be impacted by mobile cloud computing over the next three years and that with proper planning can leverage it to their advantage. How? Mobile cloud computing will bring an unprecedented level of sophistication to mobile applications and at the same time make them available to the broadest range of mobile subscribers, regardless of the sophistication level of their mobile devices. Instead of having to rely primarily on text messaging and mobile Internet Web sites, mobile money service providers will be able to offer very sophisticated mobile applications to a much larger percentage of consumers than they can today. Given the logistical barriers that exist to achieving widespread use, how can mobile application developers leverage this opportunity?
