WLAN Equipment Vendor Survival 101: Installed Base Revenue and the Recession

An often overlooked issue when it comes to vendor viability in times of serious economic slowdown is revenue source. Think of the distinction between farmers and hunters. A community that relies primarily on hunting for its food is in deep trouble when game becomes scarce. Similarly, a community that relies on its fields completely to nurture it is at the mercy of weather conditions beyond its control. Aristotle’s Golden Mean applies to this situation as well as to the ability of wireless LAN vendors to survive today’s global recession.
