Vodafone Walks the Femto Talk: How Long Before It Can Run?

Attendees at the recently concluded Femto World Summit in London were pleasantly surprised by Vodafone UK’s commercial femtocell announcement. The device is known as a Vodafone Access Gateway, which became commercially available on July 1 in Vodafone stores all over the UK and on their website. Most industry watchers did not expect this announcement so soon, primarily because Vodafone is a large global carrier with multiple regional operations, and typically large carriers are often victims of their own size, moving cautiously when it comes to evaluating and rolling out new services or technologies.
