Businesses and consumers holding off on the purchase of new computer systems have turned to accessories as a way to improve on what they already have. But even so, revenues have slowed for some categories in the computer accessories aftermarket because, while unit sales have been strong, manufacturers and retailers have reduced prices and cut margins in order to keep the flow of products moving.
According to this new study by ABI Research, the US market will see little growth over the forecast period, while emerging markets, especially China, will be fertile ground for computer accessories.
