This forecast database tracks the M2M market on the basis of wireless WAN embedded modules and product revenue, as well as wireless WAN active nodes and service revenue. Shipments, connections, and revenue are segmented on the basis of region, application, and air interface standard. Furthermore, M2M embedded module vendor annual market shares, for the calendar year prior to that in which the forecast database is published, is provided on a total unit shipment basis. The forecast database is the result of a three-stage process: information collection from primary and secondary sources, information organization, and information analysis. Unit shipment information was sourced from relevant module vendors, who also provided approximate ASP information and insight into overall shipment and ASP trends. In addition, ABI Research also took a "top down" approach in compiling this database, estimating the likely TAM over time for the main deployment segments and regions noted.
