Active safety is all the rage in automotive product development at present. Each new model year brings new features to the high-end vehicle market, with the intention that they migrate eventually to high-volume models from which profits start to roll in. Lane Departure Warning (LDW) is an application that has been available in select models in the Infiniti range for a number of years, and is increasingly popular with truck drivers. Is this feature destined to burst into the limelight as a lifesaver or will it fade away as a nice idea that didn’t deliver?
