How to Define 4G and the Reason 4G Networks Are Necessary

Questions over 4G’s definition seemed to die down, but in reality they have not. Most people involved in this industry know exactly what it is, but recently there have been increasing comments in the press – and even from some analysts – saying that 4G is undefined. No standards body, however, defines 3G or 4G; these are merely categorizations of standards. It is up to industry professionals to recognize that 4G air interfaces are being deployed today.
