Automobile Club: A Good Partner for Navigation and Telematics Vendors and Service Providers in China?

The Chinese automobile market has experienced rapid growth over the past seven years, with the total number of registered consumer vehicles reaching 31.6 million in 2005. Of these, 58.6% are registered private cars, which includes 13.8 million passenger cars. There were more than 6 million consumer vehicles sold in both 2006 and 2007; there are more than 3 million registered vehicles in Beijing alone. With this growth in the Chinese automobile market (along with the booming vehicle sales), automobile clubs that provide mostly car-related services have started to become popular in China.
