Satellite-based positioning technology is used in a constantly growing number of applications and market segments in consumer, business and industrial markets. Personal Navigation Devices for in-car navigation continue to be very popular. GPS-enabled handset shipments are expected to grow strongly as location-based services start to appear. Industrial applications such as precision agriculture, surveying, and timing will be stimulated by the availability and increased reliability of additional Global Navigation Satellite Systems (GNSS) such as Galileo and GLONASS.
