Mobile Broadband-Enabled Consumer Electronics
Embedded 3G and Mobile WiMAX in Portable Gaming, Media, and Imaging Devices
Mobile broadband-enabled consumer electronics, or mobile consumer electronics, comprise a new class of devices positioned at the point where consumer electronics meet mobile broadband. It results from a natural evolution of devices. Consumer electronics increasingly include Wi-Fi for connectivity within the home and to the Internet. Producers of content are increasingly aware of a wider variety of devices that can access their content. Service providers are looking to extend services to devices other than handsets and laptops. Most importantly, more and more consumers expect their consumer electronics devices to be able to connect to the Internet. Wi-Fi-enabled portable consumer electronics devices are a bridge to the world of mobile consumer electronics devices.
