Near Field Communications (NFC) is a short-range wireless communication technology designed to utilize 13.56 MHz contactless and RFID technology. NFC has potential in a wide range of devices and environments, from automobiles to washing machines and Wi-Fi routers, but its prime application is in the "mobile handset."
