ABI Research has announced the appointment of Stuart Carlaw as Principal Analyst, Wireless Connectivity. He brings to his new post the experience he previously gained as Senior Market Analyst, and later as Director of Wireless Research, at IMS Research in England.
Wireless technology is included in an ever-widening array of devices. Short range wireless technologies, including Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, ZigBee and UWB will change the way people interact with each other and their devices. As prices fall, possibilities increase exponentially. "Stuart has years of hands-on experience in these fields," comments Vice President Edward Rerisi, "in addition to being a recognized expert through his previous market research roles. Our goal is to expand our research and advisory services covering these markets, and Stuart's know-how will enable us to reach it." Based at ABI Research's UK office in central London, Stuart is initially applying his deep expertise in Bluetooth to its applications in the automotive industry. Users of his research will also benefit from his experience in project management and his understanding of subscribers' real-world market intelligence needs. Prior to working at IMS, he served as Telecommunications Technician in the British Army, (which he also represented in rugby), and was on track for an officer's commission when an injury closed that career path. He holds a BSc (Hons) Sport Sciences and Business Management degree from De Montfort University. Founded in 1990 and headquartered in New York, ABI Research maintains global operations supporting annual research programs, intelligence services and market reports in automotive, wireless, semiconductors, broadband, and energy.
