Description
Reporting to the Practice Director, TV & Video, the Analyst will be responsible for contribution to research services focused on the following technology areas:
      
TV & Video: Pay TV subscriptions, set top boxes, over the top and multiscreen TV services and delivery.
      
Consumer Electronics: Connected TVs, game consoles, Smart Set-Top Boxes, Cameras, Camcorders, Computing Devices and Connections.
      
Broadband Access: DSL, Cable, Fiber Optics, Broadband Wireless, and Satellite.  Broadband technologies, worldwide broadband penetration, Telco and Cable Businesses.
      
Home Networking: In-home networks including Powerline, Coaxial,  phone line and Wi-Fi.  Home networking software including DLNA, AirPlay and consumer cloud
         services.

      
Technology Barometer: Primary research in technology utilization, purchase intent, and demand.
 
Key Responsibilities:
      
Own one or more research services within the TV & Video practice.  Bring expertise within the covered markets, develop content, stay ahead of industry trends, and provide
         thought leadership to clients.

      
Author syndicated research reports, research briefs, market forecasts, and articles within one or more areas of professional expertise.
      
Develop comprehensive and accurate forecasts for technology subscriptions, shipments, consumption or other metrics using public financial data (including annual reports,    
        quarterly data and investor presentations), data supplied by vendors to ABI research, regulatory data and qualitative interviews.

      
Provide ABI Research clients with strategic advice and insights on the market for the TV & Video.
      
Maintain a high industry profile, promoting ABI Research’s information services through regular contact with key industry players, participation in industry events,
        authoring articles, delivering presentations, and interacting with the press.

      
Support sales and business development activities by preparing customer-specific analysis, and participating in key meetings with clients, prospects, and partners
      
Work on custom research and consulting projects, providing leadership on approach and methodology

Skills

ABI Research offers a collaborative environment designed to give client companies market intelligence from which great ideas emerge.  Our products are proprietary research and data products and are sold through both subscriptions and as standalone reports and data.  The ideal candidate will have:

       An undergraduate degree in engineering or business; a B.A./B.S. is required
      
Three to five years’ experience in CE product management, product marketing, new product development, technology journalism, market research or equivalent
      
Self-motivated, inquisitive and driven by an entrepreneurial spirit
      
Effective organization and time management skills
      
Exceptional written and verbal communication skills
      
Well-versed in Microsoft Office, including Word, and PowerPoint.  Strong analytical skills and capabilities to use advanced features of Microsoft Excel such as table lookups.
      
Customer-centric, open-minded approach to solving business and analytical problems
       Not restricted to travel for regional client visits and industry events (travel less than 20%)
