FCC Approves Sprint/Clearwire Deal

The second-to-last hurdle to form the New Clearwire has just been cleared.  The FCC approved the deal today, November 4 2008, in a vote of confidence that the new Clearwire will create positive changes in the mobile broadband space by pushing service providers to become more "open."  The last hurdle will be faced November 20, 2008 when shareholders will vote on the deal.
